Bill of Materials (BOM):Basics

Bill Of Material(BOM) plays very important role during mass manufacturing of product though EMS(Electronic Manufacturing Service) partner or own manufacturing unit.

It contains list of components, manufacture part number, manufacture details & quantity. BOM is obtained directly from circuit.

Manufacturer's rely on this information for component procurement as well as component assembly.To manage these tremendous amount of information, companies use either Excel spreadsheets or a dedicated BOM management software's.  I would like explain BOM with small circuit given below:

1.If you are specific about component package,tolerance then you have to clearly mention part details from datasheet.For example lets take MCP6566. Each datasheet has details like I have given below:

2.If you are not so specific about manufacture,tolerance etc like Capacitor and Zener diode in my example then write "Any make".

AUBTM-20 Bluetooth Module

AUBTM-20 Bluetooth Module Functionality Testing
Required Material:
1. AUBTM-20 Module with RS232 interface

2. USB TTL Serial Cables or RS232 cable
3.PC/Laptop
4.Power supply(Optional).
5.Terminal software in PC/Laptop

Process:
1.Connect Bluetooth board RS232 interface to PC/Laptop though RS232 cable or USB-TTL cable.
2.Power On Bluetooth board through DC adapter.
3.Connect module to terminal port and within 60Sec of device turning ON and type LLL. Device will go into command mode.(Refer datasheet attached).Response will be OK.
4.Each command in datasheet can be tried out in pattern given below:
Eg: AT?  Pattern: 0x0d0x0aAT?0x0d0x0a
